Past Recruiters Sexual Misconduct Coverups
Throughout the Nevada National Guard's history (both Army and Air), there has been an endless amount of predatory behavior from recruiters on potential recruits, some as young as 15-16 years old.
From 2010 on, there had been reports of recruiters taking potential recruits to their houses, motels, cars and other places to have sexual relations. One commissioned officer was caught receiving oral sex from a minor in RSP at Camp Stead, which was where drill was conducted prior to shipping new recruits to train with cadre. He was never referred for prosecution.
Between 2016-2018, several recruiters out of the Reno office were caught having sexual relations with minor recruits. They were never referred for criminal prosecution and allowed to retire with full benefits, which is a sex crime in the State of Nevada.
There are countless other stories of female enlisted being propositioned by recruiters, most women in the Army and Air Guard have a story of them being propositioned by male recruiters in both the Air and Army realms.
Several ROTC instructors at the University of Nevada: Reno were caught having sexual relations with cadets - when they were caught they were just moved (and promoted) to other parts of the National Guard - all of these individuals were married too.
A Nevada Army National Guard Recruiter got a recruit pregnant, he was only moved and allowed to retire as a Command-Sergeant-Major.
Two Nevada National Guard soldiers were allowed to retire after being arrested by the FBI in a sex-trafficking sting where they drove to a house to have sexual relations with underage prostitutes and were arrested by Federal agents.
